Eco Friendly, Sustainable Toys. Buy Toys to be proud of!

When watching Sir David Attenborough’s Climate Change – The Facts’ (on BBC if you haven’t watched it yet) me and Andy thought hard about what we as a family can do our bit for the planet. To help make sure Arlo has the planet he deserves. I’m sure this went through a lot of parent’s minds when watching this heart wrenching documentary.

After discussing what we can do as a family, we turned to our little toy shop. We’re very proud to have already selected toy brands who strive to do their bit for the planet too. Whether it’s less transportation by having everything made at one location, recycled paper and card or sustainable forest’s for wooden toys. Have a look below at the toy brand and what they do to help.

Petit Collage toys are made from ‘recycled cardboard to FSC-certified wood and soy-based (and vegetable and water based) inks. We avoid plastic.'

'Our products are designed with the health of our children, and the planet, in mind' .

‘All our great products have been made with the development of children’s skills and the replenishment of rubberwood forests at its heart. Our manufacturing process - cutting, painting and drying of the wood, is all undertaken at our factory all at the same location.'

For every tree used to make a toy a new tree is planted.

‘We look to a time where all businesses regardless of size take social and environmental responsibility in all parts of the supply chain in order to protect our children’s future.’

‘Our ideas are rooted in Germany, just as are the trees we use for our wooden products. They come from sustainable forest management , which is why all our wooden toys carry the PEFC seal.’

'We breathe environmental protection and sustainability!'

Haba have ‘ Short transportation routes, modern production techniques and innovative materials, new organic materials from sustainable resources, as well as wood from sustainable silviculture and textiles, plastics and paperboard from renewable resources.’
