Why Arlo Loves it:
Arlo is really enjoying flap books (another style of playing hide and seek in his eyes) so this book for Arlo is great, especially as he just LOVES animals. Arlo was instantly interested in the animal’s emotions in the book, showing me the crocodiles tears and the angry rhino. Arlo also really enjoyed pulling faces in the mirror at the end of the book, which was a great opportunity for me to ask him to make a sad face like the crocodile and a happy face like the lemur.
Why Mummy and Daddy Love it:
This book is a lovely way to learn about feelings through imaginative stories. I especially love the way there isn’t a story or text which makes it easy to tell a different story each time. Arlo had fun trying to copy the emotions of the animals (especially the happy/laughing lemur!) which is a great way to build on learning emotions. I personally love the high quality of the book and the beautiful illustrations, I could look at it all day! The little finger puppet is a great addition for story telling and it was great for keeping Arlo’s attention, fastened to the front of the book with Velcro means it won’t get lost in a hurry.
